I was talking to a woman in Glossop while I was cleaning her driveway and she asked if I cleaned caravans. Now I have cleaned this ladies carpets before and I also cleaned her neighbours conservatory yet it had never occurred to her to ask me if he could clean her pride and joy.

I explained I have been cleaning caravans around Glossop for over five years now. I used to do a lot of valeting and detailing (which is a sort of high end car cleaning service) all over the High Peak and it was back then that I started doing caravans.  I was cleaning a car on a caravan park in Buxton and the owner asked if I would clean his van. I don’t know why it had never occurred to me before but it was easy for me to do. The equipment I use for cleaning caravans is basically the same as I use for cleaning cars, just on a bigger scale.  It doesn’t matter to me whether it is a static caravan or a touring caravan, one just takes a little longer than the other.

After I did the caravan I got asked back to do regular cleans for the permanent and hardstanding static caravans and occasional tourers on his caravan site. After that I started to offer a caravan cleaning service, mainly in Glossop and Buxton but I do get asked to go to other areas as well.

Some owners want me just to do the outside, a big wash and then clean the van roof and windows. I use top car cleaning products such as Autoglym, Renovo and Concept and they work great on caravans. So if the van is a bit dirtier or starting to show its age I will use products to restore the outside , enhance  the colour and protect it against the elements. I clean the window surrounds as well, older models require metal polish and the modern luxury mobile homes have PVC or UPVC window frames and I clean those the way I clean window surrounds or conservatories.  They come up looking like new and it makes sense to protect your investment rather than letting it go to rack and ruin.

The inside of a caravan is just like a house, I can steam clean the carpets, the curtains and upholstery including the sofa or rugs again, just like I would in your home. I suppose it really is like a home on wheels. I can make it look cleaner, smell fresher and protect it against the weather.

With spring almost upon us, this is the perfect time to get your caravan cleaned, ready for you and your family to enjoy their holiday. We just need to get rid of his snow first.
